Name: Andi Age: 5 Years Color: Apricot Sex: Female State: CO
About Me:
Hello there! My name is Andi. I’m a pretty little apricot girl, 5 & ½ years old. I don’t know why I was left behind when my family moved, I’m a real good girl; but I was. Thank goodness my family called Mastiff Rescue! I was very sad and confused at first; but my foster mom let me know that I was loved and she’s working hard to find me a good home! I have lots of brothers and sisters in my foster home and they are all trying to teach me to play. I don’t really know how to play and I do prefer to lie around; but it’s nice to have others around me to watch. I love to go to the shop with my foster dad and watch him work, it’s so interesting there. Then I go inside and watch my foster mom work too; these 2 leggeds are so busy. I just like to be with my family and hang out most of all. I met the family cats, they’re kind of boring and I get to see deer in the back yard. I don’t chase or bark I just watch them; they’re ok I guess. I love to go ride in the car, that’s lots of fun! My foster mom says I’m a real good girl in the car so I get to go anywhere they go! I love my baths; a girls got to be well kept you know. I love to cuddle and keep you warm. I’m not rambunctious in the house, I know my manners, I’m house broken, and I sleep on my pet bed at night. I can sit, down, come, and I can stay too if you don’t make me wait too long. I’m ok with far off rumbles, but loud thunderstorms scare me! Firecrackers do too!! Please don’t ever leave me out in them. I’m loyal and true and I need a family of my own. I may be small for a Mastiff but my heart is BIG, BIG, BIG! It’s BIG enough for you; is yours BIG enough for me?
Name: Margo Age: 3 Year Color: Fawn Sex: Female State: LA
About Me:
Hi, my name is Margo! My foster mommy tells me I'm a very sweet baby, about 3 years old and I weigh about 120 pounds. I like to hang out with other dogs, and my very favorite treats are hotdogs and
vienna sausages! I drool just thinking about them! You can probably tell I like to eat by my pretty pictures! When my foster mommy comes home from work, I bounce around because I'm so happy to see her! I can't wait 'til I find my forever home, so I can cuddle and show my new parents how happy I am to be given the chance to live the good life!
Name: Rex Age: 1 Years Color: Fawn Sex: Male State: CO
About Me:
Hi! My name is Rex. I came into the rescue program in early 2008. I didn’t have such a great start in life. I was raised in a puppy mill and then one day was shipped off with some of my brothers, sisters and cousins, to a big auction barn. It was very loud and noisy and there weren’t a lot of nice humans around, except for the very nice lady who chose me and my brother. I didn’t know it then, but life can be good.
The puppy mill and auction barn were a very frightening experience for me and I am very shy and still nervous around humans. I like to sit back and watch everyone. I am very curious and want to know what is going on, but I am still reluctant to run right up and see for myself. I am looking for a laid back, small and quiet family to settle in with and become your best friend. I need lots of patience and encouragement. I am still afraid of that darn leash that I have to have on for my walk, but given a little more time, I am thinking I will come around.
I have a beautiful fawn coat with a black mask. I look like I am prancing when I walk. Lots of people tell me I am graceful like a deer. I am 8 months old and weigh about 85 pounds right now. I am going to be a big boy. I love to eat and it makes my day when I get special treats! I am able to be in my kennel and mind the potty rules. I am still working on the indoor rules. I have an accident now and then, but I am learning. I am still a puppy and mischievous enough to get into trouble if you aren’t watching closely. I sure do like picking flowers in the garden…
By the way, I love other dogs. It is comforting for me to have other canine friends. I am also good at following the grumpy old dog’s rules. I am a good listener when it comes to my aunties and
uncles! I have yet to decide if I like cats. Right now they are lots of fun to chase. I haven’t caught up with one yet, they seem to out smart me at the last minute.
Anyway, I am looking for a special family I can call my own. If you are looking for a new pal, please pick me. If you think you have the time to help me become more secure in this great big world, I promise to become your best friend and you won’t regret it – I have lots of love to give!
Name: Cinder Age: 1 Year Color: Brindle Sex: Female State: CO
About Me:
Cinder is a beautiful 1 year old apricot brindle weighing around 100 pounds and will gain more now that she is being fed and cared for properly. Cinder was rescued from a puppymill and has never known a life outside of a cage. She is learning to walk and run on grass for the first time in her young life. She was shot with buckshot and that will be removed at the same time she is spayed. With the patient care and love of her foster home, Cinder is learning to trust people and enjoy the companionship of other animals. She is enjoying the attention and affection that is shown to her for the first time and will give kisses to show her appreciation. To rescue a Mastiff like Cinder takes more work, patience and love. To see them bloom is the most gratifying experience. Life is very harsh for a puppymill dog. It is a wonderful feeling to give these kids the life they so deserve. We invite you to be part of giving Cinder her new life by making her a cherished member of your family.
Name: Davin Age: 2 ½ Years Color: Fawn Sex: Male State: CO
About Me:
Hi, my name is Davin (pronounced DAV-in) and it means “Beloved” or “Cherished” (cause my foster mom say she “loves” and “cherishes” me) I’m 2.5 years old, neutered, (and will be) utd on my shots, housebroken, and really tall—35” at the shoulder! Mom says I’m a “submissive” personality and the sweetest, gentlest, most wonderful boy ever. But I do have special needs. You see, my front legs shake badly (mom suspects Wobblers and we’re going to find out for sure) and my rear legs are so weak and shaky that my back end is bowed round and I have to walk with my rear legs splayed out to keep my balance. Stairs scare me because I can barely navigate the smallest of steps, and wood floors are like a ice rink, so I would definitely need a home with carpet everywhere and only very few and very easy steps—I’d rather have NO steps (a ramp would be fine too). But mom says that with the right food, the right medication and exercise to strengthen my muscles, I’ll be a whole lot better in no time. I also have a rather pronounced under-bite that, at times, makes me look like snagglepuss, and I tend to sleep with the tip of my tongue sticking out. Mom thinks it’s all ssssssoooooo cute. Whatever! I’m a little shy around strange men and I lack confidence, but I really come out of my shell when there is another dog to play with. Size doesn’t matter just so long as they play with me. Oh, and kids. I LOVE KIDS!!!!! I haven’t been formally cat tested (my previous owners said I got along great with the cat) but mom says I’m so sweet, polite, laid back and love everything, that I’d even “kiss a cockroach” whatever THAT means. At any rate, anything goes as far as I’m concerned cause I have tons of love to give. To be part of a family, and be loved in return, would be the greatest Christmas gift ever. Oh, and I walk gently on a leash too.
We greatly appreciate your interest in our gentle giants. If you do not see
the mastiff of your dreams here, don't despair, this does not mean there is
no dog for you. Many dogs come through our sheltering arms throughout
the year, and you never know when one of these wonderful animals might be
ready to call your home their new forever home. Please take a few moments to
fill out the
adoption application, and let us know you are
interested, we will contact you soon.
