About Me:
Aphrodite, or "Dite" as she is called, is a 4 year old apricot English Mastiff rescued from the Beckley, WV shelter. She is a small girl at about 120 lbs. Dite is an owner surrender due to overwhelming number of dogs at residence. Among those dogs were 4 females, a mixture of Mastiffs & Great Danes, and two male dogs, one Mastiff & one Great Dane. Dite and one of the other females did not get along and the owner surrendered Dite to the shelter. Ditie got along well with the males in the family. Dite should go to a home with male dogs only.
Dite displays a wonderful temperament. She is great with men, women & loves children. My 10 yr old granddaugher spent most of the first day helping me care for Dite. She is very obedient, meek and comes on command while walking off lease. Her personality is a calm sweet nature with her only desire to be close. I was so surprised & pleased to see how well she transitioned to a new place.
Dite has been bred multiple times. She will be spayed this Tuesday and will be brought up to date on all shots. Dite has a knot on her head from an encounter as a young pup with the back end of a horse. It does not seem to bother her at all.
We greatly appreciate your interest in our gentle giants. If you do not see
the mastiff of your dreams here, don't despair, this does not mean there is
no dog for you. Many dogs come through our sheltering arms throughout
the year, and you never know when one of these wonderful animals might be
ready to call your home their new forever home. Please take a few moments to
fill out the
adoption application, and let us know you are
interested, we will contact you soon.
